Online
Photography Forums & Photo Hosting Sites – How do they impact
the photographer?
– Hosted by Crossing Bridges
Sunday, 4 November 2007
4.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Room 304, Level 3, SICEC
In the age of digital photography and the
internet, online photography forums are becoming increasingly
prevalent and have turned the Asian photography world into an
intimate community in a global village. What roles do the forums
play for the photographer? How do they transcend barriers and
promote cross-border exchanges? How should IP rights be protected?
Join the panellists of this forum discussion
and learn from the founders of four of the largest online photography
forums in Southeast Asia.
About Crossing
Bridges
Crossing Bridges is an annual photography event whose objective
is to promote friendship and interaction among different online
photography forums in Asia. The first Crossing Bridges trip
took place in Yogyakarta in 2004, followed by trips to Hong
Kong/Macau (2005), Hanoi (2006) and Semporna (2007).
Today, the four online photography forums from Indonesia, Malaysia,
Vietnam and Singapore have a growing membership base of almost
300,000 members, and are looking to rope in more over the next
few years.
