World of Seafood will be held 22 to 26 May 2013 at IMPACT Exhibition Center, alongside THAIFEX - World of Food Asia. Seafood has been an integral product segment within THAIFEX - World of Food Asia in the last 9 years; registering close to 100 exhibitors from key Asian countries such as China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mynamar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam from the 2012 edition of THAIFEX - World of Food Asia.

The event is jointly organized by Koelnmesse GmbH, Department of Trade Promotion (DITP) and Thai chamber of Commerce (TCC), in collaboration with the Thai Frozen Food Association.

• Thailand's exports about 570,000 metric tons of fresh, chilled and frozen seafood products, a 50 percent increase more than a decade ago.
• Since 2002, the value of the country's exports of fresh chilled and frozen seafood products has doubled from US$ 1.2 billion to US$ 2.75 billion.
• Thailand is the world's second largest producer of shrimp, next to China.
• Thailand is also one of the world's largest importers of fish and seafood. Its imports, valued at C$2.5 billion in 2008, represented about 26 percent of total fish and seafood consumption that year.
